Canadian Universities

Hi all !
I'd like to do Masters in CS, from some Canadian university. Can anyone tell me which are the best universities for this purpose and some rough idea about fees for foreign students.

I was also trying for one canadian university but it is very tough to get the student visa now a days, If u r in US then there is no problemo

The University of Waterloo is considered the best in Canada for Engineering of all sorts. In fact, I know a few companies that won't look at graduates from anywhere else. The University of Toronto(U of T) ranks pretty highly too for reputation.

I went to UWaterloo, it is a good school, particularly if you enjoy math (unless things have changed, the CS department is within the Math faculty). Canadian universities don't tend to have all the physical resources that some of the highest-ranking US schools have, but the quality of the teaching is solid. I suspect you are a lot less likely to get mugged at night they way you could be in many US urban-campus schools.
McGill is another school you'd probably want to look at, I think particularly for engineering and for business.
I can't quote you exact fees; they are higher for foreign students, but I doubt anywhere near as expensive as what you'd pay in the US.

be careful of those mennonites. They tend to be quite shifty

It's ok; the horse-drawn carts don't negotiate street traffic very effectively, so you can outrun them.

U of Calgary also is fairly good with computer science stuff. If your looking for a software eng degree they are doing some pretty cool stuff here too. The main CPSC site is http://www.cpsc.ucalgary.ca the software eng site is http://sern.ucalgary.ca

The website is not very clear on their requirements for Master of Software Engineering. Since this is a professional course i.e. non academic, do they require references from former tutors from a prospective student.??
Of course this is required for the academic graduate degree.. but for a professional one??

The MSc in CPSC with spec in Software Eng has two ways, professional (course based) and academic (thesis based). There is a prescreen application on the www.cpsc.ucalgary.ca webpage (under gradute courses or something) that will tell you what the req are.
