Hi all, I was hoping someone could give me some advice here, I've seen there are some people from the UK on this board. I am about to graduate from university in the UK with a Bachelors Degree in Software Engineering. I have already had one years experience as a software developer at a US software company during my 3rd year, and am considering my next move. I've been a SCJP for about a year, and have used many of the java and j2ee api's for my dissertation and in my job. I don't really want to join a graduate program at this point simply because I wouldn't want to relearn what I already now, or enter a management stream at this time. I've looked at sites like jobserve, but would rather not deal with an agency unless I have to. What I'm really looking for is a resource for IT companies in the UK, preferably in the London area, I could send speculative enquiries too. Or some kind of job site where companies actually post adverts without going through agencies? Does such a thing exist? Does anyone have any advice for a new graduate, or will I see my career die before it ever gets started? Thanks, Richard

My advise is try and get onto a graduate programme. Accenture or something, if that fails then go for the 'Ordinary' job.
