Change field?

I love Java and I am looking for a Java job for almost 3 months now, but can't get one so far. I have a B.Sc.(cum laude) in IS Engineering and I have passed my SCJP with 89% recently (end of March) but I dun really have any on-the-job Java experience. I have worked with ColdFusion, ASP, VB, HTML and etc but NOT Java. All I can show online is a JSP site I have developed which is currently hosted in mycgiserver.
In Singapore, I have noticed that most companies are looking for ppl with real Java experience, especially on the enterprise level. I did some simple development in J2EE with Sun's Ref Impl and JBoss... but it just seems not enough!
Maybe it's just not a good time to change field???
Any advice/comments?

In this economy I'd advise you to look for any job you can possibly get, in any field. But keep in mind that things will get better so do what you can to keep your skills - participating here, maybe do some open source in your part time, etc.

Eric,
I believe, You are in Singapore.
Please concentrate your part on the serverside.VB,ASP are not enough to get a good Job.If you have money and time to spend, please study the following stuffs and I am sure, you will win.
1.Enterprise Java(EJB,Servlets,JSP,JDBC and XML)
2.Webservices(SOAP, JAXP, WSDL)
3.Databases(Oracle, DB2, SQL Server)
4.OS (Sun solaris)
You are a sun certified programmer and you dont find difficulty to understand the Java terms's in it.
Good Luck!
