Hello, Is it appropriate (or may be helpful) to email a 'thank you' note after an (face-to-face) interview? Or is it an overkill? I appreciate your input on this one. Especially from those of you who have done this or from those who are on the other side of the table. Thank you very much. Bala.

It is very appropriate! This is the type of thing which can set you apart from other candidtates. Even better, print and (non-e)[B]mail[/I] the letter. In general letter should make reference to any or all of the following: 1) The interview itself. 2) One or two topics covered in the interview, perhaps questions discussed. 3) Something about yourself, wrt what you can offer the company. 4) Something about the position you are applying for. I'd recommend getting a business book, or looking on the web for samples of thank you letters. --Mark
PS Reid, I just sent a thank you email 2 days ago :-)
