JavaMail stuff usually gets discussed in the Other API forum. I'll move this over there.

I don't think POP3 has a concept of folders; there's just a single mailbox for all messages that have not yet been retrieved and deleted. You'd need to use IMAP for this.

Yup.Pop3 doesnt support folders.
IMAP is not supported by JAMES and Most of the mail servers.
So please suggest me a better workaround for the stated situation.

I have an email tracker application which reads mails from a user account.
The mail server i use is James pop3 server.
Once tracker has read a mail it should not read the same again
The flags available in mail API like SEEN etc is not supported by pop3.
So i am here forced to use Flags.Flag.delete flag on the read message.
So i was planning to move to folder.
Is there any other workaround for this task.

And Does James support IMAP??

So i am here forced to use Flags.Flag.delete flag on the read message.

What's wrong with that? That's the way to do it.

POP3 isn't meant to store messages on the server indefinitely. If you need to retain old messages, store them locally.

And Does James support IMAP??

Well, you said earlier that it doesn't.
