I have to build a scheduler module very similar to the appointment recurrence available in Microsoft outlook. When we schedule a job to a recurrence pattern, the job should execute as per the schedule.

I am using cron expressions to prepare the schedule but I am struck up when the recurrence pattern frames a pattern like the following

Occurs every 999 days effective <date> from <start time>

Please let me know the possible solutions

Thanks much

Have you looked into the Timer and TimerTask of core java.
For advanced scheduling features you might want to look at Quartz scheduler.
