Tiff images - get compression type?

Hi all!

I have a peace of code that reads a tiff image that goes something like this:

String image = "D:/test/tiffTEST/single1.tif";
 
FileSeekableStream stream = null;
try {
stream = new FileSeekableStream(image);
} catch (IOException e) {
e.printStackTrace();
System.exit(0);
}
 
ParameterBlock params = new ParameterBlock();
params.add(stream);
 
RenderedOp image1 = JAI.create("tiff", params);

After I read my picture I would like to know which compression is used for this picture, LZW, G4, packbits...

I read about TIFFEncodeParam here:

But I still can't figure out how to find the used compression. I would appreciate any help. Thanks in advance!

getCompression();//Returns the value of the compression parameter.

What is it that is difficult? The return type is an int. What do you do on the basis of the compression type?

As I was searching for how to use the getCompression function I saw this. I dont know exactly how to use it and if you could provided an example to how to use it with an input file stream that will be extremely helpful. Thanks.
