Hey, What is the purpose of JTAPI? http://java.sun.com/products/jtapi/ I mean what could I do with it? Can I develop VoIP applications with it? Thanks.

I doubt that it works on that low a level. It's an API that needs an existing telephone system to do anything useful. Note that the docs say "The requirements for this API were that it be simple, easy to implement on top of existing CTI platforms, ..."
