hello,
Few days back I was interviewed for the Software Developer post. I was told that the interview result will be out within 2/3 weeks time and they will let me know.
It's been now almost a month and I haven't heard from them.
Should I go ahead and call the HR to know the interview result or should I wait for some more time.
I have already e-mailed one of the HR person and didn't get any reply.
Does that mean that the result is -ve??
Thanks,
Trupti

I would call them and keep calling, leaving messages as appropriate, but don't stop until you talk to a real person.

Give them a call and tell them that you respect their decision (posive or negative), but you'd appreciate if they are confident (abt their decision) and professional enough to communicate the same.

Hello,
Ok, here is the good news..I have cleared the first round of the telephonic interview..Now there is going to be face to face interview..
I would like to have some guide-lines for preparing for the face to face interview.
Will it be a technical one or general??
thanks for all the replies..

Well, it's different in different countries. What country is your prospective employer in?

Will this interview be with a contracting company or with an end company that's to hire you.
I suspect you'll be interviewed on a technical and a personality basis. You might even have to take a computerized test. If it is face to face they want to see if they can tolerate you.
If your interviewing face to face it sounds like you have a strong chance. Will you have to relocate or is this a local firm?
Is it a java job? Will it be swing, jsp, ejb or something else?

To my experience, small companies do not bother giving negative answers because do not have staff for this. Big companies... well... over-bureaucratized and you should receive the negative answer in 2-8 months.
I freuently hear that the company waits for the end of the year to know the results and adjust plans, so the waiting also depends how long it is untill the end of the year.
