Hi,
I just want to read a file character by character using FilterInputStream and replace all ! marks with ".". I tried to do it using DataInputStream but not working.Would anyone write the code to do this?

BufferedInputStream might be more suitable than DataInputStream.
And no, people here are not going to write the code for you, but they'll be happy to help with your code - just post what you have so far.
Don't get me started about those stupid
