For Freshers: Rs 10 to 15000.
For 2/5 years : 20 to 30000
For 5/10(Software exp) years: 40 to 50000 per month.
Salaries mainly depend on company profile and there is a large variation.(Our chairman earns appr. that of Infosys employee of 5/6 years exp.)

My Guess -
Freshers => 5K to 20 K (if you get lucky)
2 to 5 Years => 20 - 60 K (Bigger better companies)
5 to 10 Years => 40 - 80 K maybe more... (I know many in 70 K range)

So an experienced developer makes just sort of $2000 a month, or $24K a year. Take home pay (after tax) I assume?
If so, I think I was reasonably close earlier when I claimed that Indian programmers were getting salaries 40-50% of US levels.

According to my information an experienced (10/15 yrs)developer in India makes between $1000 to 1400US a month, or $12000 to 17000 a year.
1 US$----->47 INDIAN RUPEES

oops! guess that's way off mark. I have close to 4 years experince and am from Bangalore. My gross is close to $14k USD / year. A 10/15 years exp guy s'd definitely make more than that.

I think a person with recent 5yrs of experience should qualify as an experienced developer.

So 14000$ a year is pretty good(Indian standards )
