refreshing a jsp - problem

hi,
I am getting this problem in a jsp page.
Initially, when my jsp page loads up, I get 8 attributes. I am able to read them using the function request.getAttributeNames() and getParameter().
But, when I refresh the page in the browser, I get only 4 attributes.
One more thing I noticed is, initially request.getQueryString() returns null. Whereas, after a refresh, request.getQueryString() returns a non null string. I am confused
Can anyone tell me the what the problem could be?
regards,
suku.

I think we might need a bit more detail to help you out. For instance, What parameters are you passing in and how? Are you submitting 8 params from an html form? Have you placed 4 attributes in the session and 4 in the query string? Are you redirecting or forwarding to the page? Is the query string in the browser address bar changing from the first hit to the refresh (i.e. if the session is being url encoded or something). A few more specifics like this may shed a bit more light on the situation.
