I don't know if I'm posting to the right forum(or if there is a right forum for this)
But....
I have a jsp page that when loads is fine, it's single spaced like it is supposed to be. When the user saves the page everything on the page is double spaced in the source. There are no extra tags being added.
This page comes from Websphere 3.5. The data comes from Oracle. The double spacing happens in IE and Netscape. There is no double spacing if I say view source and copy and paste the source to notePad and then say save and name the file something.html.
Any clues?

Sounds like a line termination issue to me. Unix, Windows and Macs all use different conventions to terminate lines in a text file (\n, \r\n, and \r respectively if memory serve me correctly, which it rarely does).
I guess I'd want to know: since this manifests itself just in the source HTML and doesn't affect the page rendering, why is it an issue?

Hi
Issue is this. The program builds Benefit Summaries for an HMO. These summaries need to be saved and printed later. But if they are double spaced it doesn't look as good. The strange thing is that everything is double spaced in the source after a save but before the save everything is fine.
so
before save it looks liek this
htmltag
htmltag
after save it looks like this
htmltag
htmltag
save with the actual text

It is sorta covered in the JavaRanch Style Guide.
