Positive news for a change. Except for the chappie who predicted that the entire IT industry was going to outsource itself to India within the next five years, of course. He's probably sweating this.
It's gonna happen, folks. One company cited in the Wired piece had shrunk to 10% of it's former staff. At 350 people they were probably way overstaffed, but at 35 people even the slightest upturn in business is going to cause panic hiring....

Hi,
Are those new hires will have the same benefits as the ones they canned previously?
As I know some companies in Southern California savings costs by consolidate vacation time into personal time-off which is against California Labor Laws. But I wonder how those companies operated. Are they that stupid implementing the policies without consulted with Business Lawyers? These companies are not mom&pop operations, they are multinational level.

Not in my case, MCao. I took a 30% pay cut to get working again. I don't expect that cut to last, however.
It's dumb to violate the labor laws. They will end up paying through the nose for that one. Especially in California.....
