JSP and Java script pages

Can anyone tell me the advantage of using JSP (Java Server Pages) over Java-script (server side) pages?
This is kinda important so any help would be appreciated, Thanks in advance.

One advantage is that the server side JavaScript engines I've worked with exhibit particularly poor performance, and there are some useful operations (like sorts) that you may need but are just too heavy to do.
JavaScript is also a fairly weak language. You can do a few bits and pieces for it, but when you need to do operations that aren't supported (no examples off the top of my head, it depends on the engine) you have to reace outside the box and may have to write C code that plugs in via a JS wrapper. This is a horrible procedure.
All my experience is based on a JS Engine used in BroadVision a few years ago, but it doesn't change the fact that JSPs are Java and have all the abilities Java has, and JavaScript is not. Apart from the word 'Java', they aren't the same thing at all.

Thanks David...I work in BoradVision too so I had that question for one of my interview.
