1) how does we have to code in JSP
2) what are the alternate solutions available.

Are you talking about printing on the server side or the client side?
If the latter, JSP has nothing to do with it. The JSP runs on the server to generate an HTML page that is sent to the client. Once on the client, you use HTML and JavaScript to control things. (Check out the window.print() method).
