Hidden fields and struts

Hi,
I would like to know how I can iterate through a set of values in a jsp and when I encounter a specific value in the set, I want to set a hidden field in the jsp to not the specific value found but to a value associated with this specific value.
I've looked at examples on the internet but can't seem to get them to work for me and I'm running out of time.
Any help will be most appreciated.
