writing to a file on client machine

hi all,
is it possible to save the content of a string which i get thru querystring to a file on the client machine..using FileWriter i was able to save the content of the string to the file, but the file is getting saved on the server machine..is there any way to save the file on client machine ??

Try using a signed applet to write to the cient machine. Seems to have no other way of doing it!
