Sometimes a community can be more like a mob. You really test what a person is made of when you see them confronted by such a mob. Will they join the mob? Will they simply leave? Will they use their authority in an inappropriate manner? Or ... will they weather the storm and follow the path that they think is right no matter how much abuse is thrown at them?

It has been almost exactly a year since I'm appointed new sheriffs. And once again, I should have done this a loooooong time ago. By giving these three guys the keys to the whole site, JavaRanch cannot help but be a better place.

Congratulations

Max Habibi

Jason Menard

and

Bear Bibeault

Map, could you please update the contact page to show the new status for these guys?

Jim, could you add them to the sheriffs only mailing list?

Congratulations to you. Wielding a gun instead of a drink, eh? I'm too much of a newbie to say if JavaRanch will ever be the same, but I'm sure Paul knows what he's doing Have one on the house!

Wow, this is, sincerely, quite an honor. Thank you, Paul, for the tin star. And I'm extremely grateful to the Javaranch citizenry for providing such a wonderful, bright, and interesting community.
