I am a graduate student and I applied for co-op or for part time job in a nearby company. A week ago, they called me up for an interview for data entry job. :-(
I was not expecting this.. i applied for software related (coding.. desinging etc) so I went for the interview it went fine, I am not sure if i am offered this should i take it or wait for another opportunity? I want to get in sth that will help to enchance my career in software. (I DONOT have any prior experience )
I clearly told them that I am looking for a software related job and i am not sure why i have been called for this (ofcourse very politely)then they also told me that if opportunity arrives i can be reassigned .
so can you guys suggest me whether to take it or say no and wait for good one?
thanks a lot,

Well, looks like you have nothing to lose by taking up this offer. Well, make sure you have nothing to lose, beware of contracts etc (dont sign any! ). As long as you wont be tied down to this job, it wont effect any other future job, there's nothing wrong in doing this job till you find something better. And it pays too!

If you really need the money, take it. Otherwise, this isn't relevant to your career. You also shouldn't take a job planning on taking a new one within a few weeks (or let them know if that is your plan).*
*The assumption is that you can get a programming job in the future. If, for example, you have no experience and no degree, well, then maybe you'll need to reconsider your career path. But assuming you can, then don't take this job.
I agree. Here's the link:
