I'm posting this because our Main talk on the next DJUG is on the J2EE 1.4 Web Foundation.
Details are below including our Basic Concept meeting on the Xerces XML Parser.
As always - meetings are free and open to the public.

Basic Concepts Description:
As we begin our survey of XML uses and utilities, it is important to understand the basics. We will discuss Apache Xerces, an open source XML parser. Exploring the capabilities of this tool will also enable us to give a quick overview of some key XML terminology -- SAX vs. DOM, Well-formed vs. Valid, and DTD vs. Schema.

J2EE 1.4 is the next generation of the Java Server Enterprise platform.
Find out what new features have been included in JSP 2.0 and Servlet 2.4
for doing enterprise web development. We will take a look at the J2EE 1.4
landscape to see what's hot, what's new, and what's changed in the areas
related to Web development. We will take a functional look at the JSP
and Servlet arenas regarding web development. With JSP 2.0, we'll
talk about using the new expression language, JSP fragments, .tag files,
and Simple Tag Handlers, as well as how to use the JSTL in your JSPs.
We'll also look at using new features in Servlet 2.4.
