Hi All,
I am trying to write a simple verion of jsp parser and compiler. I am referring to the jasper in tomcat for this purpose. I was wondering if there is a simple version of the compiler or parser written that anyone of you came across?.
Thanks

First I want to know whether you want to write a JSP parser or comipler or both.
There are already lot of java compilers in the market.
Writing your own JSP parser is in my opinion is a good idea. I don't think therez any standalone JSP compiler available in the market. All JSPs are text translated to a servlet.
Writing a JSP parser is not a complicated thing.JSP parser simply text translates a JSP into servlet. There are many JSP translators but they are all contained within servlet containers.
For guidance you can look into the source code many open source JSP translaters available.
We'll be greatful if you can write a standalone JSP compiler without translating it into a servlet.
