IE doubles page request when the content type is for plugin

Hi all,
I'm generating SVG file from my jsp page, so when i want it to be displayed by plugin i have to set content type to image/svg+xml.
Mozilla works ok, but IE( ) works this way:
-it requests the page
-but when he see it is the content for plugin, it doesn't transfer my response to plugin, but requests the page once again
It causes me 2 types of problems:
- i have to generate svg 2 times, so the performance go down
- when ie requests the page second time also with request parameters, i do the logic twice, in my case when pressing "GO 1 LEVEL UP" button, it goes 2 levels up
Kind regards,
Miro

I just want to ask, if it is possible to recognize this situation in the request, so i wouldn't need to do the logic or generate svg, and i will only send the contenttype.
Is this approach real ?
