Hi All,
I'm using taglib for my project. This custom taglib extends TagSupport.
I'm bit worried that this would cause any performance issues or not?
The doStartTag method writes (JSP writer) a lot to the response page. Does that cause a performace issue. All those output are dynamic contents.
Logic:
The doStartTag method calls for some support classes where i build html and return as a string. This string is embedded in jsp by jspwriter in doStartTag method. The contents are dynamic. For example say a label should be displayed in red color when the value is of certain set. (Say name is the label and show this label in red color when value is "Alfred Hitchcock" and for other shou the label in black color). These kind of UI display logics are handled in support classes that are called by doStartTag of taglib.
Please advice me whether is would cause any performance glitches or not. If so, what should be done.
I'm pasting the source of servlet that has got this taglib.

Don't get me started about those stupid light bulbs.
