If cookies are enabled on the client browser then it leaves the url unchanged. If they are not enabled it concatenates the users session id to the URL as a request parameter.
There is no such thing as a response parameter. The session id is tacked onto the end of the URL so that it serves as input to the redirecting request. The container will use this value to 'hook up' the request to the appropriate session.
