In anyone's experience do companies have good programs in Continuous Learning. OK, I have seen links on their homepages at some places I've worked but nothing that really grabbed me as this is what I want to spend doing for the rest of my career.
Or anyone else we discussed it with. Probably worth exploring that area.

By and large they are non-existant. You may get the occasional text book thrown your way.
BTW, have seen a couple of jobs advertised here recently that say they will actively encourage professional study. They did not specify how in terms of exam fees or study time.

When I worked at General Motors they were the best I have seen. They offered seminars delivered via sattelite. They were delivered very early in the morning. So you did not have to miss any work and the fees were not too bad.
The other companies had little or nothing.

KPMG Continuous Learning
KPMG have spent some time learning this under the guise of Knowledge Management. Knowledge Management per se is nothing new. Ancient Egyptians would have done it as well.
But it's a way to combine old and new bodies of knowledge I think.
If a Company sets programmes of Continous Learning there must be some objectives as well.
I'm not sure whether individual work is assesssed on financial benefits to the company OR how they'd go about doing that.

KPMG Consulting Continuous Learning was a load of rubbish to be honest.

Hi,
I remember KPMG helped to bankrupt Orange County in California few decades ago. They have so much money to stall the case and settle decades later because it fails when compare to Enron and Arthur&Andersen.
I think Contiuous Learning is just a marketing ploy to win back client confident in its shady past.
