hope this will get some clues.
ps : btw, please don't ask me to use google... tried as much as possible.

I looked into this briefly a while back and found no implementations of this in Java. If anyone does know a Java implementation of this, please let us know. I thought about writing this myself - seems like it would be a fun project.

"matrix rev",
We're pleased to have you here with us in the JSP forum, but there are a few rules that need to be followed, and one is that proper names are required. Please take a look at the JavaRanch Naming Policy and adjust your display name to match it.
In particular, your display name must be a first and a last name separated by a space character, and must not be obviously fictitious.
Thanks!

You may be pleasantly surprised that just today there's an article about just that on http://java.net (see http://today.java.net/pub/a/today/2004/04/22/images.html for a direct URL).
It uses bar graphs as an example but I'm sure you could adept it.

There was a question on this a while ago (maybe in the Swing forum), to which I responded with sample code for doing exactly that. If you use the "search" link you'll be able to find it. Use my member number to narrow the search and you'll find it in no time.
