hai friends,
Iam Shyam, a new entry to this group. Friends presently iam learning JSP and currently working with custom actions, iam unable to start properly can some one help me out to start it in a proper manner, my another request, please specify a good book so that it be handy(that is available in India)

The best way to learn about custom actions (or custom tags, as I've usually heard them called) is to look at some good examples. Take a look at the source code for the Jakarta Taglibs - they provide an implementation of JSTL and many other custom tags. Also check out the APIs and documentation provided by Sun for Tag Libraries.

I don't know of any good books specifically about custom tags, but most good JSP books should cover them to some degree. Perhaps someone else in the forum can suggest a good book on custom tags?

"Custom action" is the en vogue term used by JSP 2.0 specification. The JSP tags are now also called "JSP actions".

Perhaps someone else in the forum can suggest a good book on custom tags?
