Hi guys,

I have a web application that uses directory security and standard session/cookie JSP security. Basically, the user logs into the system, it creates a session which is used to authenticate the user.

As part of the software, I use web start, but the jar files are behind a password protected directory. The reason for this is so the user must always authenticate before using the software.

The trouble is, when they're logged into the site, I'd like them to be able to use the web start application without having to log in again.

Is there a way to tell the directory password protection the username and password contained in the session?

I hope that makes sense...

Cheers,

Steve

Sorry, forgot to mention:

I'm using Apache/Tomcat and the site is implemented in JSP.

Cheers,

Steve
