Terrific article. Over here in a Germany we have a discussion about ruinous policy to attract global players, especially in eastern Germany (ex communist). An external condition has fundamentally changed. Production facilities are more easier relocatable through better communication technologically. Politician party with investors their new direct investment in their costitutency. Investor gets tons of subventions. Voter think that politician is smart person. After 3 years or so investor looks for another subvention offering politician. and relocates his business to Austria or Czech Republic. Now voter in Czech Republic thinks that politician is smart person...
