The otherwise condition is firing even when auctionData.proximityToCity == in (I have verified this by writing the value of the variable to the page).

What am I doing wrong?

So are you saying that you are getting both the when and the otherwise parts? Or just the otherwise?

Just the otherwise. The weird thing is I restarted Tomcat and now it is working. I have no idea what is going on...
