HTML Frames and JSP!

i am working on a web application with JSPs. i am having problems with the <Frame> element of HTML.

the index page of my application is index.jsp. It has 2 frames--Frame1->for the login form and ,Frame2-> to start a background application. when the user logins in successfully, Frame1 now displays an main.html page which itself has many frames. one of the frames in main.html contains a JSP. now when i do "response.sendRedirect()" in this JSP , the whole Frame1 is changed, ie the new page is displayed in the complete Frame1 and not in the frame that displayed the JSP which triggered this redirection.i want to retain the main.html page.

how can i retain the frame structure of main.html?

Set the "target" attribute in your hyperlink or FORM tag. Give it the name of the frame you want the content to appear in.

Neeraj,

You should try to keep this conversation to one thread. It get's very confusing for people to follow the conversation and help you if it's spread out across multiple threads.

As far as I can see, this part of the same conversation going on in:

I'll continue to respond there.
