I have recieved a mail from from moosesaloon[at]javaranch.com with a subject "Status" Dated : Mon, 20 Feb 2006 with a garbage message and an attached ZIP file named "test.zip" ..... I want to know whether its a junk mail or an email from javaranch should I download this file or not ?

It is spam, using a false javaranch return address. I keep getting spam emails supposedly from myself as well. JavaRanch has never sent emails with attachments and has no plans to send any attachments.
