Accuracy of salary survey

I've been wondering how accurate the salary survey is on a popular jobs site. There are various job titles under the site's "Software" category. I chose "Software Engineer" as the job title that most resembles the description of a Java developer.

The numbers below are the base salary ranges (bonuses not included). Do these ranges seem accurate?

Software Engineer I, 0-2 years experience, 48000-59000
Software Engineer II, 2-4 years experience, 56000-70000
Software Engineer III, 4-6 years experience, 67000-86000
Software Engineer IV, 6-8 years experience, 77000-95000
Software Engineer V, 8-10 years experience, 85000-102000

depends on the location, I think it sounds reasonable for where I am in Philadelphia, but its probably much too low for California.

And compared to the salaries in my country it's WAY more.
With 7 years+ experience I make under $35000 a year and that's about average.

At the moment, local recruiters are attempting to hire experienced contract workers at $40/hr. I know I always let myself go too cheap, but I don't think there's any way ANYONE's getting 6 figures or more in this part of the world -- unless they have incriminating photographs.

Customer surveys are for companies who didn't pay proper attention to begin with.

I think those numbers are about the national average in US.

Look good to me since I'm in Ohio.
