I have a first interview on monday with a software company. It is for a swing/web developer role. I have experience in both, but I have not used swing in over a year. My question would it be wise to ask the interviewer what type of interview this will be? ie if its just a get to know interview or whether it will involve technical questions as well? I just want to be prepared

It shouldn't be a problem. If you want to ask more subtly, you can inquire as to with whom you will be meeting, their names and roles and how the process usually works (e.g. how many rounds and what happens each round).

Being hones up front may well work best. If you say you haven't used the tech in a while and want to refresh your knowledge first that shows dedication. If they're serious themselves their questions will be such that a few days cramming by someone with no prior knowledge will be detected anyway...
