hi all,
I designed an application in the NetBeans IDE and now I want to deploy it in Tomcat.
I have the correct file structure but when accessing this url http://localhost:8080/project/index.jsp I get the following error:

org.apache.jasper.compiler.ParseException: C:\jakarta-tomcat-3.3.2\webapps\forumProject\index.jsp(1,0) Page directive: Invalid attribute, pageEncoding

thank you for you help

How did you define your page directive and attributes?

Should be:

<%@page pageEncoding="{CharSet}" %>

If that is giving you a problem, try to remove the *pageEnconding*
attribute first(and its corresponding value, if any), then run the
web app again. It might be that the value you've set is not in the
valid list of CharSets.

Better yet post your page directive to have a much clearer view of
what's causing your problem.

Any reasons of using stale tomcat version? We are having 5.5.x.
