Default an input:text value to populate input

I have a JSP page; page A, which contains a value (a Subscriber_ID), that I want to use to populate an input:text item on an input form; (form B). Form B is produced by clicking a link on page A. I'm putting the value into the sessionScope variable; I called it SubrID. I followed instructions from apache's tag library to place default after value, but I get an exception.

Anyone got some simple hints moving values from one jsp to prepopulate an entry form?

<h:inputText>? <f:convertNumber/>?

These are not standard JSP actions. If you are going to post code using non-standard actions, you'll need to let us know what tag library they are from.

It is sorta covered in the JavaRanch Style Guide.
