I have some servlets, javabeans, and plenty of JSPs. Certain aspects of my web app are not working and the server admin told me the reason was because,

"The problem is each jsp is not creating a service() method ".

I thought in servlets you can override the service method, but you don't have to if you override the doPost or doGet.

But from my understanding you really shouldn't be overriding the _jspServiceMethod.

Is this an issue inside the websphere container, which i have no control over, or is this an issue in the way I've written my JSPs?

The server admin is apparently somewhat lacking in JSP know-how.

The JSP container creates a servlet on behalf of the JSP, and which implements the service method.

Whatever, your issue is, that ain't it.

thanks for the response.

I was going crazy thinking maybe the server admin is right and something is wrong with what I wrote, but in the back of my head I just kept thinking, "wait a second, your not the one wrong here."
