If you dont want to type the FQCN (Fully Qualified Class Name) import the required class/interface types in the top of the JSP page using Page directive

     <%@ page import="java.util.ArrayList" %>
 
      <!-- JSP body-->
     <% 
        ArrayList list = new ArrayList(); 
        // do whatever you want with the ArrayList object "list"
     %>

With JSP 2.0, it's very easy to use JSTL and EL to find, iterate over, and print the values from your array list.

Are you using a JSP2.0 compliant container?
