I have a index.jsp that we use jsp:forward on. But this doesn't go through the filters we would like to apply. If I replace it with response.sendRedirect() it will apply filters but this is done on the client machine not the server, which I guessing is going to be slower. Is it possible to do something similar to jsp:forward and apply Filters?

Thanks,
Tom

In Servlet Spec 2.4, you can configure your filters to intercept forwards.

Download a copy of the servlet spec (link in my signature) and search for:
<dispatcher>FORWARD</dispatcher>

We are slated to go to Websphere 6 soon. So I will use that in the future. Is there anything in Servlet 2.3 that could do this?

Thanks,
Tom
