Hi every one,

I have worked one year on Java/Jsp, Java Beans in a company. Recently, I have got a job offer from a company, which does business like XML database or something like that. Its url: http://www.ipedo.com/

It seems the company focus on XML or Java related database technology(am i right?).
But, I always hope to do J2EE(especially EJB) related work(although have no experience, I have learned the technology by myself.) .

My confusion is What do you think of the job? Should I take the job or continue to seek a J2EE(EJB) job? By the way, if I decide to seek J2EE/EJB job, I will take SCBCD test first(Do you think that would help me to get a J2EE job?).

Thanks a lot.

In my point of view, experience is much more impormant than certificate.

take the job, and study in your spare time.
You might even get the company to sponsor you (that's what I did, I got them to commit to paying for SCJP and SCJD as part of me coming on board, first part to be completed soon).

I agree 100% with Jeroen here. Take the job and achieve SCBCD while working there.

By the way, Jeroen, I am very happy to hear that you are getting certs. A year ago I thought you would never see benefit in them.

The process of studying for it is to me more important than that piece of paper (though I admit getting a nice logo on your businesscard is rather fun).
The company does want to get as many people as possible certified now (I admit I helped push for that), good for marketing.

Hi guys, thanks a lot for your opinions. Now I know what to do. cheers.

Btw, Does anyone here know the company (www.ipedo.com) or its products, and any techniques/experience the company will bring to me?

Totally.

Nian, sorry I do not know about your new company but if you want to study EJB soon you can join my study groups' discussions (or any of the other threads) at the SCBCD forum. Our group is taking the Head First EJB book chapter by chapter and we are only a couple chapters into it so far so there is plenty of time to catch up!
