Hi all.
I want to ask the folks here that are working with Java web technologies (JSP and servlets).
ok, let me start :
I'm a person who don't want (and can't) work in presentation technologies, I like to do the logic.
I mean, I'm very good at servlets but not at the presentations (like HTML).
for home developement, I can create a complete web application using servlets and JSPs, but these JSPs are plain (just like JSPs in the books), since I'm not an HTML pro.
I can't procude fancy HTML like java.sun.com or IBM or .....
my question is :
if I want to get a job as a Java web developer, how can I survive without being a pro at presenations ?
any tool that I have to learn ?
maybe you will tell me : you can work in servlets and leave JSP to the page authors.
but what about if the company is small and ask me to be the developer and the page author at the same time ?
as a Java web developer, what are the others technologies I have to learn ?
(Flash, PHP ... ?)
thanks.

You don't need a tool, you need a course in basic design. When I went to school, i took "Introduction to visual design" also known as "cut and paste" because scissors and glue were our basic tools, as an elective. I consider that to be one of the most valuable courses I took on my way to a BMath degree.

Once you know the basics of visual design, your pages will look better even if all you use is HTML. Flash is one of the most easily abused tools, it will make good pages better, but it also makes bad pages much worse.

As a web developer you'll need HTML (and do use the latest, XHTML strict...), CSS, and JavaScript on top of what you know already.
