Satyam has development center in Pune/HYD/Chennai/Bangalore.I was at Satyam for 1 month for some work. Its not a very good place to work.No cabins, you can see the values of private variables declared by person sitting 2 chairs away from you.Are you talking about Sify,Satyam Infoway?

Well, I am saying what Arjun said, it's not a very good place to work., what they do is hardly any sensible development work. But then, what do I know? IM (not so) HO = In My Not So Humble Opinion. Same applies for MBT/PCS/Kanbay/KPIT, again IMHO! Frankl, whether work culture is good or not depends largely on what you're confortable with. Personally speaking, I am confortable with highly technical, informal small to mdeium sized companies. But opinions and preferences differ... It all depends!! - Manish

No, its not a development center. Its a sales and marketing office. The main development centres for Satyam in India are at Hyderabad, Bangalore, Chennai, Pune and Bhubhaneshwar.

I have to disagree. What kind of criterion is this.. to make a judgement about the work culture in a company. Satyam is one of the top few IT companies in India, on all counts, and the work culture as well as physical work environment is also top class. By all comparisons, it is atleast on par with the other major IT companies in India, if not better.

A recruiter from this company called a few weeks ago to find out if I was interested in joining their Hyderabad office. I have never come across a recruiter who was so negative in attitude. All he tried to do was to downplay my abilities so I would agree to what they were ready to pay me. I came to know from a cousin that they work more than 12 hours a day (with no extra pay) and that they demand such hours from everyone as a matter of routine. I worked with some of their employees in a previous project. They were depressed all the time and all they talked was how low their pay was and how less their vacation time was. Although some of them were really good at work, none of them have had anything good to say about their employer. Vasu
