I would like to display a Timestamp date which is retrieved from oracle DB
using JSTL.

How can I achieve this. when I am directly cut tag

Date: <cut value="${row.SENT_DATE}" />

the output for this is

oracle.sql.TIMESTAMP@a3aaf5

You'll need to convert the proprietary Oracle date value to a standard Java date. Apparently the Oracle construct has no toString() method defined.

The to affect the format, investigate the JSTL fmt tags.

It is sorta covered in the JavaRanch Style Guide.
