Is there anyway that I can access a microsoft access database
on linux or unix box?

Hi
I dont think there is any mecanism by which u can connect to Access database on Linux system . What you can do is, you can install mysql as the database on the linux machine(which is freely available on th net) and work with it.
DriverManager.registerDriver(new Driver());
String s = "jdbc:mysql://hostname ort/databasename";
Class.forName("org.gjt.mm.mysql.Driver");//this is the driver name
con = DriverManager.getConnection(s);
