Hi everybody ,
My employer wants me to develop a middleware in java to transfer database from a local SQL server to Remote Web Server.
Can anybody guide me how i can proceed & how middleware is better than DTS service provided by microsoft sql server.
thanx in advance.

Pick up a copy of the JDBC API Tutorial ...
listed at the top oof this form.
Somewhere in the beginning of this text you will find a high level overview comparing java/jdbc and ms-product(s).
If I were in you shoes I would write it in java & jdbc ver 2.0
if possible.
Sounds like fun.
Say I would even do it for free..

Multi Platform Database Developer & DBA on E.S.T.
It is sorta covered in the JavaRanch Style Guide.
