can we get connected to database from an applet using Type 3 & Type 4 drivers ? It seems the Type 1 and Type 2 driver have this limitation. Kindly clarify.

You can connect to a database from an applet. The issue is that it must be from the same server where the applet was loaded from. Browser security will not permit an applet to access any other server unless it has a security certificate and has been approved by the user.
