If you're getting 3.8L/p.a. you'd be getting 32k/pm right?

I know frreshers who would work for 10-12k but not getting that much. Only a few comanies (IBM perhaps) start with 20k for a fresher from top institutes, but then their annual revision hardly makes it 22-24K. My cousin works there so I know fr sure.

For 2 years exp, 2.4 to 3.5 L/p.a. is more of an industry standard here.

No.
32k is variable, 40k goes in medical, lta etc.
Remaining 3.1L/12 months =26k.

Which I think is very less.
What you think?

People will see your CTC per annum not the variable amounts. You already getting very good salary. I guess if you look for change many companies may start rejecting you as you already getting good salary and they may not able to give you hike on your present salary.

One of my friend who is getting very good salary in bangalore with 2 yrs exp. And he wants to shift to Hyderbad. He is clearing all technical intereviews but at salary negotiations he is getting rejected as those companies ready to pay more than what he is getting now. So getting high salary in present company may create problems when you want to change the company.

I agree. I think its a problem for me. Cauz this salary is less for a 24 yr. old. I spent 1 yr. after BE preparing for competetive exams.

I am facing the same problem right now. I passed tech. interview in CTS but they never took HR interview, after promising.
My current CTC is now 4Lpa. & exp. is 2+ yr. I am not satisfied with my current work. what should I do now?

Job satisfaction is a elusive word.Instead of asking whether you are satisfied with the job ,you should ask yourself whether YOU are satisfying the job.

Think about the following things which may helpful to you:

You need to proof your self in interview that you are worth for that salary. Always you may not get chance to proof all your abilities in interview.

Choose companies which are paying more salary then your current company.
But there is no guarantee that the work will be greater to your current work.

If you dont quote high raise in your salary your chances getting thru in HR interview will be more.

If you are interested in CTS, you might have informed the HR that salary is not major conern for you to change the company. I guess CTS can pay 4L for 2+ yrs exp person.
Good Luck

How about changing domains?

For instance, if a java developer is woking in Retails-Sales domain, can he apply for the same (java) developer position in networking/telecom?

There does only java knowledge alone matter? Or his previous background too?

Some times your domain knowledge matters. Espeically if you are going to work in CORE products/applications(telecom) your domain knowledge matters. For general applications it domain knowledge may not required much for a developer postion. Other wise you can change domains, it should not be a problem.
