i am using oracle 8i as datadase to servlets.when i open sql*plus and enter user name and password then i get this error.Please some one could explain me about this error .
ERROR:
ORA-12560:TNS:protocol adapter error

Sounds like you are having a generic oracle problem ...
Got a simular error 9 mths ago ... i think ... sounds simular!
Please review you tsname.ora file & your systems hosts file.
Re-Boot your machine after you change either of these files.

I agree. Here's the link: http://ej-technologies/jprofiler - if it wasn't for jprofiler, we would need to run our stuff on 16 servers instead of 3.
