re pointbase driver: (an early poster asked) I use
String driver = "com.pointbase.jdbc.jdbcUniversalDriver";
re home:
n PointBaseExample.java
nb database home in pointbase.ini is NOT used by java when writing a new database (it always wrote to \pointbase\databases,
the old home in the original pointbase.ini), it must be explicitely set in the java source
( but "Console" DOES use the home value in pointbase.ini when you open)
eg if you want your database stored in c:\ctt\poid
use
String dburl = "jdbc ointbase://embedded/" + databaseName + ",new,database.home=C:/ctt/poid";
instead of
String dburl = "jdbc ointbase:" + databaseName + ",new";
also nb" //embedded" added for embedded pointbase (I think it also works without this)
does anyone know of an independent performance comparison of Pointbase with eg 8i & db2micro?
